The AgriExchange is very conscious of the need to safeguard our customers’, suppliers’ and employees’ rights to privacy of information. We undertake only to use information we collected from our customers, suppliers and employees to efficiently and effectively conduct our business. AgriExchange is committed to safeguarding our customers’, suppliers’ and employees’ privacy by ensuring personal information is protected in a way that observes our own corporate values, as well as being consistent with the requirements of the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) ACT (2000) and the National Privacy Principles

Information Collection and Usage

a) General

• We shall only collect customer, supplier or employee information that is necessary for us to conduct our business.
• We shall always tell our customers, suppliers or employees who we are and what we intend to do with their information when we receive it.
• We shall ensure our customers’, suppliers’ or employees’ personal details are accurate, complete and up to-date when we use or collect the data.
• We shall only collect personal information by lawful and fair means. * We have a commitment to data security and to ensure satisfactory procedures are in place to safeguard and secure the information that we collect and use.
• We shall hold personal information of our customers, suppliers or employees for the following purposes:
  - To send correspondence in relation to the product or service acquired;
  - Accounting and administration (including taxation obligations)
  - To help us identify and provide information regarding other products or services that might be beneficial; and
  - To provide information regarding updates or changes to our products or services.

b) Specific Information

Customers
On selling goods or providing a range of services to our customers, the information that is collected ensures that our business dealings are efficient and of a professional nature. Our sales and services teams use customer information to enhance our relationship with them now and into the future. We shall not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete the transactions.

Suppliers

a) Growers
On packing fruit or selling fruit on a growers’ behalf we collect detailed information about their business which enables us to plan, improve quality controls and market their product more efficiently and effectively. Such information is not available to any outside parties and is strictly confidential.

b) Creditors
All details concerning our business dealings are stored safely and are not accessible to outside parties.

Web Site
We do not collect any sensitive information from visitors to our website unless that information is deliberately forwarded to us by the visitor.

Employees
All employment details are securely stored to protect privacy of information and will not be supplied to a third party without express permission of the employee.

Applications for Employment
By submitting an application for employment the applicant implies that they consent for us to use the information supplied to evaluate their application. We shall destroy such applications at periodic intervals.

c) How a customer, supplier or employee can access or correct their information

Our customers, suppliers and employees have the right to access their personal information we have stored pertaining to them or their business. If they find the information we hold is inaccurate or out of date then we shall willingly correct or update it. If our customers, suppliers or employees wish to access their information they may do so by contacting our Privacy Officer at our Renmark office. No AgriExchange staff member other then the Privacy Officer or General Manager may provide such information or respond to customer, supplier or employee questions of this nature.
