Packing

AgriExchange operates four citrus packinghouses across the Sunraysia and Riverland regions,Packing

Maintaining our commitment to quality, consistency and reliability of supply, AgriExchange’s four citrus packing facilities pack 15% of Australia’s citrus and 30% of Australian exports equating to three million 30 litre equivalent cartons of citrus each year.  With young plantings coming into production the number of cartons is forecast to grow to over 4 million cartons by 2012.

Embracing state-of-the-art technology, practices and techniques, our citrus packing facilities have more than doubled in size and capacity in the past three years and they aim to maximise packouts and returns to our growers.

Our citrus packing facilities boast the following quality controlled features:

  • Latest techniques in washing, waxing, sorting, packing and maintaining the cool chain to preserve the shelf life of the fruit
  • Computerised camera systems for quality identification. Each piece of fruit is scanned from four angles for blemishes and scarring and further reviewed during the manual grading process.
  • On-site cool storage capacity of 1600 tonnes of packed produce aimed at improving the cold chain, which is essential to enhancing fruit shelf life.

AgriExchange citrus packing facilities are located in Renmark, Loxton and Murtho in the Riverland of South Australia and Nangiloc near Mildura in Victoria.
